Dana

Dana is a Sanskrit and Pali word meaning generosity or giving. In Buddhism, it also refers to the practice of cultivating generosity. Ultimately, the practice culminates in one of the Six Perfections (paramitas): The Perfection of Giving (dana-paramita).

The exquisite paradox in Buddhism is that the more we give, the more wealthy (in the broadest sense of the word) we will become. By practicing dana-paramita, we destroy those acquisitive impulses that ultimately lead to further suffering.

The primary objective of the Tibetan Cultural Institute of Arkansas is education. Geshe and Rinzin have been making substantial contributions to the Northwest Arkansas community as they lead meditation and discussion groups, visit local churches, and provide demonstrations of their rich and ancient culture. With the establishment of TCIA, their contribution will increase even more significantly. This work will only be made possible by the generous financial support of those sympathetic to the purposes of the Institute.

To express your generosity and support of the work of the Institute, make your check or money order payable to the Tibetan Cultural Institute of Arkansas, and mail to:
